Deacon Barnett, along with his wife Carolyn, was one of the founding members of Our Lady of Walsingham parish in 1982; and he was the first Permanent Deacon incardinated into the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. He has been a friendly face at Walsingham all these years greeting everyone with his warm smile.
He spent most of his career at Shell Oil Company but is now retired and devotes most of his time to helping out at the church. He oversaw the building of the church and expansion projects, and currently oversees all maintenance and upkeep of the property. He serves at Mass and also prepares young couples for the sacraments of marriage and baptism, as well as other pastoral needs.
